Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen have crossed more than one-third of Antarctica in their attempt to become the first women to traverse the continent under their own power; and they join Lorna Benson to discuss the trip so far.
On day 46 of the trip, they are about 450 miles short of the South Pole. The explorers are pulling 250 pound sleds on skis. When the conditions are right, they pick up their pace using sails. After the wind died down today, Ann and Liv took a few minutes to talk by satellite phone. Liv says the biggest frustration so far has been the lack of wind.
