SPEAKER: So you were in the midst of all of these Twins fans, I would imagine.

SUSAN CATTON: Definitely was in the minority.

SPEAKER: But you were bravely cheering on for your Braves.

SUSAN CATTON: I had to. I really did. I mean, that's home for us now, even though this is where our roots are.

SPEAKER: Sure. It must have been difficult watching that-- watching them lose last night after it was so very, very close. And even all the Twins manager, Tom Kelly, said that he wished that he could split the trophy with the Braves. Is it particularly hard because it was so close?

SUSAN CATTON: I think I felt good because it was such a good series and, I mean, right down to the wire. I think both teams were equally deserving. The Braves fans, I think, it really gave them something to support and unite for something good. But then for the Twins also, I mean, this being where we call home in our hearts still, it was great to see either team play and win.

SPEAKER: There was so much controversy down in Atlanta about that play that Kent Hrbek made on first base, where he lifted Ron Gant off the base. Kind of a lot of animosity. But do you think that the Braves fans retain that or is there goodwill to the Twins from the Braves fans?

SUSAN CATTON: I think it would be in goodwill. I think anybody-- I mean, different plays and different calls. There's always somebody who's going to argue how it went or what team it went for. But that was over. And hey, I think that they have a lot to cheer for too.

SPEAKER: Do you think that there will be a celebration for the Braves in Atlanta?

SUSAN CATTON: I would think so. I know that the fans gathered at the airport, even when they flew off to Pittsburgh, and were very supportive there, and I would imagine that they'll receive a very celebratory homecoming.

SPEAKER: Is there anything you would have done different if you'd been calling the shots last night?

SUSAN CATTON: Not that I could see. No. I think that the Braves had their opportunity to take the lead if Lonnie Smith had gone ahead and ran for home. But they didn't. And the 21.

SPEAKER: Yeah. So are you going to stick around for the Twins celebration at least maybe feel a little bit of pride in your old hometown team?

SUSAN CATTON: Oh, of course. If there was any other team that the Braves had to lose to, I'm glad it was the Twins. We have all the memorabilia from the '87 series at home. As a matter of fact, that was probably-- we were showered with those gifts that year from our family, and I'm sure that we will be again, and we'll wear them very proudly.

SPEAKER: Well, Susan Catton, our condolences to you as a Braves fan. Thanks for joining us today.

SUSAN CATTON: Well, enjoy your celebrations.
