Incumbent Democratic Senator Paul Wellstone and Republican challenger Norm Coleman are locked in a close race for the U.S. Senate. The race, like 33 others all across the country, could be the one that tips the balance of power in the Senate, which now has 50 Democrats, 49 Republicans, and 1 Independent who usually votes with the Democrats. Wellstone and Coleman, are joined in the race by the Independence Party's Jim Moore, and the Green Party's Ray Tricomo.
