Today is the first day of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. During this month Muslims in Minnesota join those around the world in refraining from food and drink from sun up to sundown. However, Muslims say Ramadan is more than just a time to deny themselves life's sensual pleasures. They say Ramadan is an opportunity for Muslims to gain perspective on their lives.
