Forty-three very old cars roll into Duluth tonight - the 59th day of a gruelling road rally running dozens of vintage cars all the way around the world. The Around The World in 80 Days Motor Challenge is on its North American leg, bound for a July finish back in London. The crews include eccentric Englishmen; an Irish pair in a classic Mustang; and a woman who grew up in Eveleth ...now circling the world in a classic Buick station wagon. Minnesota Public Radio's Bob Kelleher reports: { It's easier to tell you what they're doing than why they're doing it. Dozens of classic cars left London's Tower Bridge May first, for an 80-day challenge to circle the globe. You might think the drivers would choose sturdy SUV's for their difficult trek ... but not at all. They're driving old, classic, often rare automobiles never intended for endless hours of dirt and gravel; mountains, and deserts. Duluth's Tim Winker is helping publicize the North American leg of the rally. He says the ralliers aren't your typical motorists.
