Children's Broadcasting Corporation of Minneapolis has won a twenty- million dollar lawsuit against Disney/ABC. Two years ago CBC, which ran the Radio AAHS network, sued ABC/Disney for breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets. The two companies were involved in a short-lived joint venture in 1995. When ABC/Disney abruptly ended the alliance in 1996, it launched Radio Disney. CBC ended up selling its network and dropping out of the market. Christopher Dahl is the president and CEO of CBC. He says the verdict is a vindication, but comes too late to resurrect Radio AAHS.

Funders

In 2008, Minnesota's voters passed the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution: to protect drinking water sources; to protect, enhance, and restore wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish, game, and wildlife habitat; to preserve arts and cultural heritage; to support parks and trails; and to protect, enhance, and restore lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater.

Efforts to digitize this initial assortment of thousands of historical audio material was made possible through the Minnesota Legacy Amendment’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. A wide range of Minnesota subject matter is represented within this collection.
