November 28, 2003 - Gary Eichten's studio guest is Hennepin County Chief Judge Kevin Burke, the 2003 winner of the William H. Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence. He was honored in Washington last week.

This Midday program includes reports by MPR’s Dan Olson, Brandt Williams, and Elizabeth Stawicki, as well as various interviews and commentary of officials, academics, and community members.
November 30, 1998 - MPR’s Dan Olson reports on the varied opinions on the war on drugs…no where is the difference more striking than on the front lines. There's a rising tide of voices saying we're not winning the war on drugs so we should legalize all or most of them.
December 14, 1993 - MPR’s Euan Kerr reports on efforts to improve livability in Seward neighborhood. Kerr interviews Curt Milburn, local community organizer; Sgt. Clay Pecore, 5th Precinct Minneapolis police officer; Keith Ellison, executive director of Legal Rights Center; Robin McGhee, Associate Professor of Law at Hamline University; and Kevin Burke, Chief Justice at Hennepin Court. They comment on the struggles in fighting crime while a problematic race relationship with local police, public complicity, and an overwhelmed court system is in place.
June 15, 1992 - MPR’s Stephen Smith reports on a mediation program focused specifically for Native Americans in Minnesota. The mediation panel consists of twelve 11 Elders trained to assist with courtroom alternative. Several local Indian organizations banded together to create the council.
