January 3, 2003 - When the dot-com economy stumbled, the online grocery business stumbled right along with it. In 2001 the nation's leading online grocer, Web-Van, collapsed under insurmountable debt. Many assumed the idea of buying groceries over your computer was simply too far ahead of most consumers. But across the country online grocery shopping is now making a rapid comeback. Mainstreet Radio's Jeff Horwich reports Minnesota is no exception.

November 21, 2002 - In the two weeks after Halloween, three college men disappeared - Christopher Jenkins from Minneapolis; Josh Guimond from Collegeville; and Michael Noll of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Around the same time, Erika Dalquist, a 21-year-old woman in Brainerd, failed to show up for work, and has not been seen since. Despite constant media exposure and massive search efforts, all four are still missing, and authorities are still waiting for the one tip or stroke of luck that might yield some answers. If the cases are linked, a break in one might solve them all. But at this point it seems just as likely all four are only connected by a tragic coincidence.
October 1, 2002 - Work is almost complete on what may be the largest study ever attempted of animal feedlots. Minnesota farmers, government officials, and environmental groups all had a role in designing the report. It has taken four years and cost three million dollars. It runs more than six-thousand pages and purports to address all the important effects of animal manure on the state. The report is so massive even its architects are hesitant to predict its impact on state policy and farm practices. But they hope it will help make Minnesota's bitter battles over feedlots a thing of the past. Mainstreet Radio's Jeff Horwich reports.

The result was serious overfishing. Indian conservation officials say the Department of Natural Resources let non-tribal anglers take too many fish. Officials with the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and Fond du Lac Band of Chippewa wanted the DNR to stop the fishing on Mille Lacs. The DNR and the bands have been negotiating for months. But now they say talking things out has failed. Mainstreet Radio's Jeff Horwich reports the bands and the DNR are headed for mediation.
July 11, 2002 - Catholics around the country learned new things about their communities when clergy sex abuse cases received fresh attention this spring. One small parish in central Minnesota discovered three of its former clergy had records of sexual abuse. All three had come to them from nearby St. John's Abbey. Today the men live at the abbey. They are stripped of their priestly duties and restricted in their daily routines. No new victims of sexual abuse have come forward in St. Joseph. But the case raises new questions about the safety of parish children during those years. From St. Joseph, Mainstreet Radio's Jeff Horwich reports.
