December 27, 1989 - A Mainstreet Radio special from southwestern Minnesota town of Madison. MPR’s John Biewen presents a documentary entitled, "We're Not Dying," which highlights how the town survived the 1980’s farm crisis.
February 24, 1989 - MPR's Mark Heistad and Tom Meersman present "Poisoned Waters," a documentary about groundwater contamination problems in Minnesota. Documentary contains reports from Lakeland, Northern Township in Beltrami County, New Brighton, and agricultural land in the southeast of state.
March 14, 1988 - MPR's Stephen Smith and George Boosey live report from the Governor’s office. Governor Rudy Perpich holds press conference on proposal to adjust funding for University of Minnesota and review of the management structure of school. He also speaks on Ken Keller’s resignation as president of University of Minnesota the day before.
January 29, 1988 - MPR’s George Boosey and Dan Olson interview Joan Growe, as they wait for Patricia Schroeder to give the Carlson Lecture, "Election '88: Are We Americans Facing the Issues?" at Northrop Auditorium.
March 16, 1987 - The controversial bill allowing for the release of $24 million from the 2002 Fund for economic development on the Iron Range was recalled from the House during Senate session. News of an FBI probe of Endotronics, Inc., that surfaced after the Senate had voted final passage on the measure, prompted Majority Leader Roger Moe to make the motion for recall. The recall motion prevailed on a 51-15 roll call vote.
March 14, 1986 - Rudy Perpich, Minnesota Governor, discusses the ending of legislative session, and the outstanding state budget. George Boosey, capital correspondent, joins conversation. Perpich also answers listener questions.
January 13, 1986 - MPR’s George Boosey reports on Potter v. LaSalle Court Sports & Health Club case being heard at the Minnesota Supreme Court. The case stems from a complaint by gay man that health club discriminated against him due to his sexuality. Report includes clips of arguments presented by attorneys.
