August 24, 2000 - The wealth being harvested around Minnesota these days is filling tables with summer riches. It is peak season for all kinds of delicious items from the garden. At the top of the list, inside a plain green husk, with golden yellow nuggets of pleasure inside is one vegetable above all others - sweet corn. July 25, 2000 - The number of permits issued for home and business construction in Minneapolis is up forty percent from 1998. The business building boom is easy to see as office towers pop up on the downtown skyline. Housing construction is less visible but every bit as robust. New downtown condo's and apartments for the empty-nester and twenty-something markets get a lot of the attention. But city numbers also show a surge among residents getting permits to expand or improve neighborhood housing. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Olson reports.
July 20, 2000 - Voters in Washington county, home to Woodbury, Cottage Grove and other fast growing cities, vote this fall on a proposal to tax themselves to preserve open space. If approved, the money would be used to pay owners not to develop their land. Buying development rights to preserve land for environmental or esthetic reasons has been tried elsewhere but is only now getting started in Minnesota. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Olson reports.

July 14, 2000 - One of Minnesota's biggest family reunions is set for this weekend. The 'family' consists of the children from Korea helped by Father Ben Zweber. Father Ben, a Minnesota native, is a legend here and in Korea. During more than thirty years of work as a parish priest he helped fifteen hundred orphaned children find homes. Many came to Minnesota. They will gather Sunday in Rosemount for a picnic to honor the man who, in many cases, saved their lives. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Olson reports.
