May 21, 2003 - One of Minnesota's most successful High School hockey coaches has lost his job. Duluth East Coach Mike Randolph was told in April his contract would not be renewed. Supporters want to know why, but school officials won't say. Randolph presented his case to the Duluth School Board last night, but apparently to no avail. Mainstreet Radio's Bob Kelleher reports:
May 14, 2003 - EVTAC has made it's last pellets. The Eveleth taconite company is shutting down. Four hundred and fifty workers will be laid off by the weekend. Company officials hope to eventually reopen EVTAC's iron mine and taconite pellet plant. But many fear that may never happen. Minnesota Public Radio's Bob Kelleher reports:

April 21, 2003 - MPR’s Bob Kelleher reports on efforts by Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa officials to relocate the remains of Ojibwe, whose graves were uprooted and moved more than one hundred years ago from a cemetery on Wisconsin Point, which lies along the shores of Lake Superior. The remains were reburied in a mass grave in Superior, Wisconsin.

March 18, 2003 - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced today it's reclassifying gray wolves. Wolves will be considered a threatened species, instead of endangered in most of the lower 48 states. Minnesota's wolves are already considered threatened. The reclassification also starts a countdown to where wolves might be taken off the endangered species list altogether. Mainstreet Radio's Bob Kelleher reports:

October 11, 2002 - Since 1993, the nonprofit sector has grown nearly non-stop. The number of people working for nonprofits nudged upward again last year. But, now the nonprofit sector is struggling. The total number of non-profit organizations slipped for the first time in several years. Non-profit officials are worried about the downside of a shaky economy, and a huge State budget deficit.
