January 16, 2001 - MPR’s William Wilcoxen provides a brief profile of baseball star Kirby Puckett, who along with Dave Winfield, have been elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Winfield is a St. Paul native whose 22-year major league career included a couple of seasons with the Minnesota Twins. But at the team offices in the Metrodome, the biggest celebration was for Puckett, who during his twelve years in Minnesota became one of the Twins' best and most popular players.
August 11, 1995 - MPR’s Jon Gordon profiles retired star Minnesota Twins first baseman Kent Hrbek, who’s #14 is being retired by the team. Hrbek ended his career with 293 homeruns, second only to Harmon Killebrew for a Twins player. Hrbek is seen by some as one of the best position players at first base.
August 4, 1994 - MPR’s Lorna Benson profiles Kent Hrbek, the Minnesota Twins veteran star, who is retiring after 14 years with the team. In those years, he became a power hitter, a stellar defensive player, and a fan favorite. He retires with two Major League baseball World Series rings.
