February 18, 1981 - Author and illustrator Tomie dePaola talks about writing children's books and answers listener questions. He discusses the stage version of his children's book, "Clown of God," being produced by the Children's Theater Company of Minneapolis.
March 7, 1981 - On this Weekend program, MPR’s Nancy Fushan interviews artist Harmony Hammond. Hammond lived in the Twin Cities while going to school in the 1960s. She left Minnesota for New York where she helped to create Heresies, a women's art collective. During the transition, her art changed course. Hammond prefers to describe herself as a feminist artist struggling to find herself. The results of that struggle are on view at the WARM and Glen Hanson's galleries in downtown Minneapolis.
March 7, 1981 - Playwright Corinne Jacker discusses her play, "Bits and Pieces" performed by the At Random company at the Hennepin Center for the Arts, as well as a new play, "Domestic Issues", which will be read at the Playwrights' Center on Sunday evening.
March 18, 1981 - Results show water quality has shown marked improvement since Reserve Mining stopped discharge of taconite tailings directly into Lake Superior. Environmentalists believe fibers found in the taconite tailings have carcinogenic characteristics of asbestos.
March 21, 1981 - John Knoepfle talks briefly about his poetry and reads a number of his poems including those entitled After Gray Days, Pilgrims' Day, and a found poem based on speech by an old chief of the Winnebago Indians in 1836.
March 23, 1981 - MPR’s Tom Meersman reports on the housing challenges — practical, cultural, governmental, and social — that refugee families face after arriving in Minneapolis. Substandard housing is among the most problematic of them all.

March 31, 1981 - MPR’s Rich Dietman interviews St. Paul native Gerry Spiess, who talks about his solo voyage across the Atlantic in a boat he built himself named "Yankee Girl". Spiess also discusses his plans for his next journey with "Yankee Girl", this time across the Pacific ocean with stops in Hawaii, Samoa, and Australia.

April 29, 1981 - What is business doing in the face of competitive challenges from foreign manufacturers. Criticism of business maybe a reaction to confusion. Inflation is rampant, the national debt is rising, interest rates are high, productivity is flat. The news does not sound very encouraging. David Lilly is Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Minnesota and discusses the state of American business.
