October 16, 1974 - Robert Benedetti, dean of theatre program at California Institute of Arts discusses his view of acting, actors and the place of theater in American life. Earlier this fall, over 2,000 people involved in some aspect of the American theater convened in Minneapolis for a week of workshops, seminars and inspirational addresses. One of those people was Robert Benedetti, dean of the theater program at the California Institute of Arts. He talked with Connie Goldman about his view of acting, actors and the place of theater in American life.
October 16, 1974 - "Projected Images" was an exhibition held at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, showcasing works by six artists who used film making, audio and video techniques in their art. Connie Goldman spent some time with artist Robert Whitman, where he gave insight into his work at exhibition.

October 19, 1974 - D. Smith presents a profile of Black poet Ramona Austin. Feature includes reading by Austin at opening and close of segment. There is also a short interview, where she discusses her thoughts on poetry and how race plays into her writing.
October 21, 1974 - During on-air intermission of the Dedication Concert of the new Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis, MPR’s Dennis Rooney presents a recorded interview with Cyril M. Harris, the acoustic engineer involved in the design of hall. Harris discusses the importance of acoustics and avoiding the multi-use concept. Despite it’s contemporary feeling, he states Orchestra Hall is quite traditional.
October 29, 1974 - MPR’s Sam Ford reports on Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman boxing match held in Zaire, Africa. Ford visits Minneapolis Auditorium and interviews attendees present for a closed circuit viewing of fight hyped as “Fight of the Century.”

Association of Cooperatives: As I travel around and talk with my kids I get the feeling that there are some among us are turned off about politics. For a variety of reasons some have chosen not to vote in this election or to participate in the political process. My friends this is a cop out. If you are in disagreement about things in this country don?t sit back and criticize, get involved. If you don?t get a piece of the action, the actions going to get a piece of you.
November 4, 1974 - MPR’s Gary Eichten reports on civil rights & political activist Jesse Jackson’s visit to the Twin Cities for a groundbreaking on an inner city shopping complex, one of first in country conceived and developed by minorities. Jackson is president of group called PUSH (People United to Save Humanity), which encourages minority business ownership.
