November 2, 1993 - Former St. Paul Mayor George Latimer joins MPR via satellite from Washington, D.C., where he is a consultant to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, to talk about the future of United States cities.
November 25, 1993 - Larry Buboltz, mayor of Detroit Lakes, is interviewed about life after turkey plant in the city closed. Buboltz details the employment and local economic progress after the large employer shuttered.
December 15, 1993 - Midday presents an MPR documentary titled “A New Kind of Cop,” which looks at community-oriented policing, with a focus on one such program in Lansing, Michigan, which is being modeled by other departments across the country.
December 17, 1993 - As part of a week-long series called Keeping the Peace, Midday guests Robert Trojanowicz, professor of criminal justice at Michigan State University and the director of the National Center for Community Policing; and Minneapolis Police Chief John Laux, talk about the role of police in preventing and solving crimes, apprehending criminals, and "keeping the peace."
December 21, 1993 - Jim Scheibel, St. Paul mayor and chair of homeless task force, talks with Midday’s Gary Eichten about homeless survey conducted by U.S. Conference of Mayors. The results show numbers of homeless families have increased.

January 26, 1994 - A Mainstreet Radio special broadcast from City Hall in Nashwauk, Minnesota. Program highlights the history, current state, and future of mining in the Iron Range. In this first hour of program, MPR’s Catherine Winter and Martin Kaste present various reports and interviews from residents, miners, mining companies, and politicians. Following reports, a panel discussion with Jim Gustafson, commissioner of IRRRB; Frederic “Fritz” Knaak, former I-R state representative in White Bear Lake; and Tom Rukavina, DFL state representative from Virginia, who talk about the future of area.
